Rapid Prototyping

Rapid Prototyping

BGCNC helps product development, robotics, medical device, instrumentation and hardware startup teams choose the right rapid manufacturing route based on what you actually need to validate — not a fixed process. From dimensional verification and functional testing before EVT/DVT, to appearance samples, pilot builds and the transition toward production tooling, our engineers match each project to CNC machining, 3D printing, vacuum casting or another suitable method.

What we help you decide

  • Whether CNC, 3D printing, vacuum casting or another route best fits your validation goal.
  • How to avoid premature tooling investment before the design is proven.
  • Where tolerances, materials or finishes can be optimized to cut cost.
  • How to plan a smooth bridge from prototype to low-volume and mass production.

Prototyping that serves the validation goal, not a fixed process

In early product development, the right question is rarely “which machine should we use?” It is “what are we trying to prove?” A part made to check fit and assembly has different requirements from one made for functional testing, drop testing or an investor-facing appearance sample. BGCNC starts from your validation target — dimensions, function, appearance, quantity and timeline — and then selects the process that gets you there at the lowest sensible cost.

This is especially valuable before EVT and DVT, when a design is still moving. Choosing an expensive process or cutting tooling too early locks in cost and slows iteration. Our engineers help you keep the design flexible until the data says it is ready to move forward.

How we support your prototyping stage

From a single proof-of-concept part to a small pilot build, BGCNC coordinates engineering, suppliers, quality and delivery so your team can focus on the design.

Dimensional verification before EVT/DVT

Precision parts that let you confirm fit, assembly and interface tolerances before committing to tooling or a full production run.

Functional and test samples

Parts produced in representative materials so you can run real functional, mechanical and environmental testing rather than guesswork.

Appearance and presentation samples

Surface finishing, texture and color options for demos, trade shows, customer reviews and investor presentations.

Small-batch pilot builds

Low-volume runs for pilot assembly, field trials and early customer units — without the cost and lead time of hard tooling.

Process transition planning

A clear path from prototype to production — for example 3D printing into injection molding, or CNC into die casting as volumes grow.

DFM and cost optimization

Engineering review of geometry, tolerances, materials and finishing to remove unnecessary cost before it is designed in.

Why teams choose BGCNC for rapid prototyping

A single factory is limited by its own equipment. BGCNC matches each project to the right manufacturing resource across CNC machining, 3D printing, vacuum casting, sheet metal, injection molding and more — based on material, geometry, tolerance, volume, quality, lead time and target cost.

  • 01

    One partner, multiple processes

You work with one BGCNC team while we coordinate engineering, suppliers, production, quality and delivery.

  • 02

    Experienced engineering team

Our engineers evaluate whether CNC is the most economical route, whether the design can be simplified, and whether tolerances or finishing are tighter than necessary.

  • 03

    Certified supply chain options

Depending on requirements we can match projects with partners holding AS9100D, IATF 16949, ISO 13485 or ISO 9001 certifications.

  • 04

    Built for high-mix, low-to-medium volume

Ideal for multi-SKU projects, repeat purchasing and coordination across several manufacturing processes.

Typical prototyping routes we coordinate

CNC machining

Precision metal and plastic parts for dimensional verification, functional testing and small-batch production.

3D printing

Fast concept and form checks where speed and geometry freedom matter more than final material properties.

Vacuum casting

10 to 100+ plastic parts with high surface quality — a bridge between 3D-printed prototypes and injection molding.

Sheet metal & finishing

Laser cutting, bending, welding and surface finishing for enclosures, brackets, frames and assemblies.

Send your CAD and project timeline

Share your files, quantities, target dates and what you need to validate. Our engineers will review your design, recommend the most suitable rapid manufacturing route, and come back with a clear quote and lead time.

Talk to a BGCNC engineer

Tell us what you are building and what you need to prove. We will help you choose the right prototyping process and avoid unnecessary tooling or cost.

  • Send CAD files (STEP, IGES, STL, X_T) and 2D drawings if available.
  • Include quantities, target dates and the validation goal for each part.
  • We will respond with process recommendations, pricing and lead time.
