Custom industrial plastic parts

Custom UHMW-PE Machining for Industrial Parts

Source machined UHMW-PE parts for conveyor systems, guide rails, wear liners and other sliding applications through BGCNC. We coordinate material sourcing, engineering review, production and inspection across a qualified manufacturing partner network in Dongguan, China.

Built for equipment manufacturers and industrial businesses managing custom dimensions, multiple part numbers or repeat production—not just one-off plastic components. Share your drawings, quantities and operating conditions for a manufacturing review and quotation.

Custom machined UHMW-PE components for industrial sliding and wear applications

Plan around the real operating conditions

Load, contact surface, speed, temperature and cleaning conditions all help determine whether UHMW-PE is a suitable, cost-effective choice.

Where it fits

UHMW-PE parts for conveying and wear applications

Ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene is often selected for low-friction sliding surfaces and resistance to abrasive wear. It can be a cost-effective alternative when frequent replacement of metal or less suitable plastic wear parts drives maintenance costs.

  • Conveyor components

Wear strips, guide rails and chain guides for conveying systems.

  • Material-handling liners

Wear liners for hoppers, chutes and handling equipment.

  • Sliding and wear parts

Wear pads, slide plates and replaceable sliding components.

  • Custom profiles and blocks

Blocks, strips, spacers and machined profiles for packaging, automation and industrial machinery.

The right material and dimensions depend on the application. Share load, speed, contact surface, temperature, contamination and cleaning conditions so these factors can be considered during review.

Manufacturing coordination

Machining capability matched to your part

BGCNC coordinates CNC machining and other custom manufacturing processes through a core network of more than 50 proven manufacturing partners. Production resources are selected to suit geometry, material, volume, quality requirements and delivery needs.

Discuss your part

01

CNC milling

Plates, blocks, slots, pockets and profiles.

02

CNC turning

Round components and cylindrical features.

03

Secondary machining

Drilling, tapping and other drawing-led features.

04

Large-part coordination

Cut-to-size and machining coordination for larger components.

05

Project completion

Finishing, inspection, packaging and shipment coordination.

The exact route is confirmed after drawing review. If your BOM includes metal brackets, shafts, frames or sheet metal components, these can be coordinated through the same project interface.

Engineering review

Large parts, deformation and dimensional control

Large UHMW-PE components need more than a toolpath review. Compared with metals, plastics have lower stiffness and respond differently to heat, clamping forces and sustained loads. Large plates or long guide rails can move during machining or change dimension with temperature and operating conditions.

Tolerances should reflect the function of each feature and be confirmed for the selected material and part size. For long rails and large liners, an installation drawing or mating-part dimensions can help identify critical interfaces and avoid unnecessarily tight tolerances on non-functional surfaces.

What the review considers

  • 01Overall length, width and thickness, including the largest unsupported spans.
  • 02Flatness, parallelism, hole location and other drawing tolerances.
  • 03Part geometry, machining sequence, blank size and how the part will be held.
  • 04Material grade, available stock dimensions, installation and support points.
  • 05Expected service load, operating temperature and the environment where the part will run.

Where appropriate, the manufacturing plan may use staged machining, controlled clamping or inspection at relevant production steps. These project-specific decisions are not a substitute for reviewing the part design and application.

Production planning

Plan for prototypes, repeat orders and changing volumes

Material grades and stock formats vary. The appropriate option can depend on wear conditions, load, temperature, color and other project requirements. Confirm grade, traceability or inspection-document needs before production; availability depends on the selected manufacturing partner.

  1. Prototype or early build

Validate fit, installation and sliding behavior before releasing a larger order.

  2. Repeat low- to medium-volume production

Keep drawings, revision details and inspection requirements aligned across replenishment orders.

  3. Multiple-part projects

Coordinate UHMW-PE wear parts alongside machined metal, sheet metal or assembled components.

  4. Higher-volume planning

Assess whether the existing machined route remains suitable as quantities change.

Look for cost without compromising function

A drawing review can flag specifications that add cost without improving performance, such as unnecessarily tight tolerances, difficult-to-machine geometry or requirements that do not reflect actual contact conditions.

Manufacturing engineers supporting drawing review and process selection

10+ years

Industry experience for each manufacturing engineer

One team coordinates project requirements across manufacturing partners in China, including machining, sheet metal, finishing, assembly and packaging.

The network includes suppliers operating under recognized quality systems. Certification availability, scope and documentation depend on the selected partner and must be confirmed for each project.

Part selection

Is UHMW-PE right for your project?

It may be worth evaluating when a component slides against another surface, experiences abrasive contact or is regularly replaced due to wear. Assess value against the actual duty cycle and maintenance cost—not material price alone.

  • ✓Developing conveyor rails, guides or replaceable wear strips.
  • ✓Machining large plates or long profiles with flatness or alignment requirements.
  • ✓Comparing total maintenance cost when replacing metal wear components.
  • ✓Managing multiple custom plastic and metal part numbers or moving into repeat production.
  • ✓Resolving dimensional changes, fit issues or inconsistent supply.

Project questions to consider

What operating details affect material suitability?+

Include load, speed, contact surface, operating temperature, contamination and cleaning conditions. Reconsider the material or manufacturing process if the part carries significant structural loads, runs at elevated temperatures, or faces demanding chemical, regulatory or impact requirements.

How should inspection be planned?+

Focus on dimensions that affect fit, movement and replacement. Depending on the project, checks may include overall dimensions, hole patterns, thickness, flatness or other drawing-defined features. Agree inspection scope and records before production.

What helps with replacement parts and repeat orders?+

A sample or installation drawing can clarify fit when the original drawing is incomplete. For recurring orders, align revisions, quantities, production timing and packaging through one project contact.

One manufacturing partner for a multi-process BOM

Coordinate wear parts alongside the rest of your build

Many equipment projects combine plastic wear components with CNC-machined parts, sheet metal, finishing, assembly and packaging. BGCNC gives international buyers one team to coordinate those requirements across manufacturing partners in China, with engineering support for drawing review, process selection and cost assessment.
