Custom industrial plastic parts
Custom Nylon Parts for Industrial Applications
We source and manage custom nylon gears, wear components, brackets and functional plastic parts using CNC machining, SLS 3D printing or injection molding. Send us your drawings and target quantity; we’ll review the application, dimensional requirements and production route with you.
At BGCNC, one team coordinates engineering, manufacturing, inspection and delivery through a network of 50+ proven manufacturing partners in Dongguan and the Pearl River Delta.
Choose the process around the part
Geometry, fit, quantity, service conditions and tooling budget all shape the right route—not material choice alone.
Process selection
Choose a process around the part and order
These are starting points, not fixed rules. We review the drawing, application and expected volume before recommending a manufacturing route.
| Process | Often a good fit for | Quantity, dimensions and cost |
|---|---|---|
| CNC machining | Prototypes, small batches, precise features and parts machined from engineering-plastic stock. | Cost per part reflects machining time, material use and setup; geometry, stock size and tolerances matter. |
| SLS 3D printing | Complex shapes, integrated or internal features, and prototypes without a conventional mold. | Build size, quantity, orientation and finishing affect cost and dimensional results. |
| Injection molding | Repeat production at higher volumes, especially when reducing unit cost is important. | Tooling adds upfront cost; volume, part geometry and expected design stability inform the investment. |
Best considered for flexible, lower-volume production
Accessible faces, bores, slots and mounting features can make machining practical. Design changes are easier to accommodate than committing to production tooling.
Best considered for complex prototypes without a mold
Share which features need to demonstrate fit, load, wear or appearance. The test objective helps determine whether a printed part is suitable or another route offers a more relevant comparison.
Best considered when repeat volume can support tooling
Parting lines, draft, wall thickness and gates need review. We can compare tooling investment with CNC or SLS and discuss a staged move from samples to molded production.
Application-first engineering review
Nylon’s moisture sensitivity matters in the assembly
Nylon absorbs moisture from its surroundings. This can change dimensions and mechanical behavior, so a part measured in one moisture condition may not measure exactly the same after conditioning or exposure in service.
For gears, bearing surfaces and mating brackets, dimensional change can affect clearances, fits or alignment. We consider how and where the part will be used—not just its initial inspection measurement.
Questions that help protect fit and function
- Which features control the fit or function?
- Will the part operate in a dry, humid or wet environment?
- Does the drawing define a material grade and inspection condition?
- Should critical dimensions be checked after a specified conditioning period?
If moisture-related dimensional change could affect assembly, we’ll flag it for discussion rather than treating the initial machining measurement as the whole story.
Manufacturing routes
Match production to the part’s real requirements
We arrange CNC milling and turning, SLS printing and injection molding for custom functional parts. The right route depends on geometry, material grade, tolerances, quantity, service conditions and any secondary work.
01 / CNC machining
Wear parts and low-volume runs
A practical option for prototypes and smaller production quantities when machined features, design flexibility or accessible faces, bores, slots and mounting details are important.
Cost depends on geometry, stock size, material grade, tolerances and secondary work. For close assembly fits or features affected by moisture condition, include the requirement in your drawing or RFQ.
02 / SLS 3D printing
Complex geometry and prototypes
Worth evaluating for integrated features or shapes that would be difficult or costly to machine from stock, and for testing a design before investing in injection tooling.
No conventional mold is required, but build size, quantity, finishing and required surface or dimensional condition still affect cost. We confirm process and material availability against the actual project.
03 / Injection molding
Repeat production at planned volume
May reduce per-part cost once recurring order volume can justify tooling. Common applications include nylon brackets, housings, gears and other repeat components.
Tooling cost and lead time should be weighed against expected demand and future revisions. A design created for machining may need changes to suit molding.
Project coordination
One team across suppliers and processes
We are a Dongguan-based custom parts manufacturing and supply chain partner. Our network includes 50+ proven manufacturing partners, selected and evaluated through real project cooperation. We match each project to suitable resources rather than forcing every part through one factory’s equipment.

10
manufacturing engineers
10+ years of industry experience
Each engineer brings more than a decade of manufacturing experience to project review.
Engineering review covers
Material, geometry and tolerance requirements
Production volume and expected repeat orders
Process suitability and tooling implications
Ways to simplify a design or reduce machining
Surface finishing, assembly and packaging needs
Lead time, quality requirements and target cost
For nylon parts, that review also considers moisture effects on critical dimensions and whether the proposed process suits the part’s intended use.
Quality, inspection and delivery coordination
The BG CNC team coordinates engineering questions, supplier communication, production follow-up and quality inspection. This is especially useful for projects combining plastic machining with metal components, sheet metal or finishing.
Inspection and documentation are matched to project requirements. Manufacturing partners in the network operate under quality systems such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100D and ISO 13485; availability and scope depend on the partner selected. Include any traceability, inspection record or certification requirements in your RFQ so we can assess a suitable source.
Decision examples
Start with how the part needs to perform
Examples can frame the choice, but they are not automatic recommendations. We assess the drawing, order quantity, application and inspection requirements together.
Small batch of replacement wear blocks
CNC machining may be sensible when dimensions or design details are still being refined.
Prototype gear with complex geometry
SLS may help assess form and assembly before tooling; test requirements determine whether it is appropriate for functional validation.
Repeat bracket order with stable design
Injection molding may become attractive when projected volume offsets the tooling investment.
Close-fitting part in a humid environment
Define service conditions and critical fit dimensions before comparing processes; moisture behavior may matter as much as the manufacturing method.
