CoCrMo machining and custom parts
BGCNC coordinates custom CoCrMo manufacturing for medical-device, instrumentation, and high-wear applications. From engineering review to delivery, you have one point of contact across machining, grinding, finishing, and related processes.
Share your drawings, material requirements, quantities, and documentation needs for a project review and quote.
Process and inspection planning are matched to the part, material specification, and agreed acceptance criteria.
Material considerations
A demanding alloy for precision components
Cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloys are selected for applications that call for a combination of wear resistance, strength, and corrosion resistance. They are used in medical and dental products, precision instruments, and other demanding environments.
CoCrMo can be challenging to machine. Tool wear, heat buildup, and maintaining tight tolerances or consistent surface finish can all influence manufacturability and cost. Part geometry, stock condition, cutting strategy, and inspection planning matter.
Define material requirements early
The appropriate alloy form and specification depend on the component, its intended use, and customer requirements. For medical-related work, define grade, product form, traceability, and documentation before production. A material designation alone does not establish suitability for a particular medical use.
Manufacturing routes
Choose a process around the part—not the other way around
Not every process is appropriate for every CoCrMo grade or geometry. We review the requirements and confirm process availability with the manufacturing partner selected for the project.
Milling and turning
For precision features, bores, interfaces, and custom geometries.
3-, 4-, and 5-axis machining
Selected to suit geometry, tool access, tolerances, and setup requirements.
Prototypes to repeat orders
A practical option for prototypes, complex features, and low- to medium-volume orders, with flexibility to revise design details.
EDM and grinding
Specialized operations for features or finishing requirements that call for them.
Casting or forging with machining
Investment casting or forging with secondary CNC machining may be worth evaluating when geometry, volume, and material form support the route.
Finishing, inspection, and delivery
Surface finishing, inspection, packaging, and logistics are coordinated to the drawing and agreed acceptance criteria.
For repeat production, we can compare machining from stock with a near-net-shape process followed by CNC finishing when the part and available supplier capabilities make that appropriate.
Engineering review
Resolve manufacturing questions before the quote
Our manufacturing engineers review more than nominal dimensions. The goal is to identify production risks and clarify requirements that could affect quality, lead time, or cost.
- 01Material specification, product form, and required certification or traceability
- 02Critical dimensions, datums, tolerances, and inspection method
- 03Tool access, thin walls, deep features, and setup reduction opportunities
- 04Surface-finish requirements and how they will be measured
- 05Prototype, pilot, and repeat-production quantities, plus delivery needs
Quality planning
Material control and traceability
If material traceability or records are required, include them in your RFQ so they can be considered during supplier selection and quotation.
- Material certificates or records, subject to supplier availability and project agreement
- Lot identification and traceability requirements
- In-process and final inspection records
- Dimensional reports for specified critical characteristics
- Surface-finish verification, packaging, and labeling instructions
ISO 13485 partner matching
For projects requiring an ISO 13485 operating system, BGCNC can evaluate and match the work with a suitable manufacturing partner where available. Certification applies to the selected partner and its certified scope; it is not a certification held by BGCNC. Review the relevant certificate and confirm its scope fits your requirements.
Documentation scope, certification availability, and quality controls depend on the actual partner and process selected and must be confirmed before order placement.
Supply-chain coordination
One point of contact across processes and partners
BGCNC is based in Dongguan and works with a core network of 50+ proven manufacturing partners, developed through real project cooperation. A broader supplier base helps us assess process fit rather than force every part into one factory’s equipment.
Our team of 10 manufacturing engineers has more than 10 years of industry experience. We coordinate engineering questions, supplier communication, production progress, quality follow-up, and delivery—including projects combining CoCrMo with sheet metal, plastics, finishing, or assembly.
Partners are evaluated through project cooperation for capability, quality consistency, delivery performance, responsiveness, engineering support, and reliability. The partner and quality-system scope are selected according to each project’s requirements.
